Puppy in Maine Eats 6lb of Stones And Survives

A six-month-old puppy from the U.S. state of Maine has survived after gobbling down 3 kilograms (6 lbs) of stones. The dog named Chester devoured the stones after bits of food inadvertently dropped on them from the family’s outdoor barbecue.
Chester’s owner took him to the vets after realizing something was wrong. An x-ray identified the problem to be a stomach full of stones.

Following a course of treatment, Chester passed all the stones naturally, and is apparently now feeling better.

In Scotland, a five-year-old pet Labrador recently underwent an operation to remove 13 golf balls from his stomach after his owner heard a strange rattling noise coming from his pet.

The dog, Oscar, picked the balls up from a local golf course during walks with his owner, Chris Morrison, who was cited by the Dunfermline Press as saying, “He normally picks up golf balls and brings them home, but must have been swallowing some all along.”

The local vet, Bob Hesketh, who performed the hour-long operation, said “It was like a magic trick. I opened him up and felt what I thought was two or three gold balls. But they just kept coming until we had a bag full.”
