125px-Flag_of_Rwanda.svg2Barely two weeks after Rwanda and France reconciled, Rwandan President Paul Kagame is expected on Wednesday to meet his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy on the sidelines of a regional conference.

Kagame will be making his first visit to France since 1994 and their talks, according to reliable sources are to center on the recently revamped bilateral relations.

According a statement on the Elysee Palace website on Wednesday afternoon, President Sarkozy will meet 10 central African leaders over the massive forest cover in this region and Rwanda is among the countries invited.

According to the program posted on the website, all these countries are expected to be represented by their heads of state who are part of the ten-nation Commission of the Central African Forests (COMIFAC).

The heads of state invited include those from Rwanda, Burundi, Cameroon, Republic of Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic, DR Congo, Sao Tomé & Principe and Chad.

On November 29, Paris and Kigali buried their differences – after a telephone conversation between the two leaders, and two years of behind-the-scenes-diplomacy.
