Send Me An Angel: John Abraham’s PETA Campaign

June 28, 2008

After playing an angel in Strings‘ new video Koi Aanay Wala Hai, Bollywood hunk John Abraham would now once again be seen in the same get up for a new ad for petaDishoom, the youth arm of PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals).

John, who has always been closely associated with PETA, would be seen wearing huge angel wings standing next to the tagline ‘Be an Angel for Birds: Don’t Cage them‘. The ad is a still shot taken from the Koi Aanay Wala Hai video.

Although the ad is titled ‘Be an Angel for Birds’, petaDishoom wants fans to come up with their original titles.

Winners stand a chance to win for themselves autographed CDs of Strings’ new album!

Speaking on their association with this noble cause, Faisal. the lead singer of Strings. said “The Eco-system of birds is important in preserving the biodiversity of planet Earth and they have as much a right to live as we do.”

The duo also spoke out against the illegal trafficking of wild animals and animal parts.

“The trade of banned animal products is as much due to myth as it is due to ignorance”, says Bilal (guitarist and composer of Strings)

On a closing note, Simran Kodesia of PETA India said, “When John Abraham speaks up for animals, young people across India listen. His close association with PETA means that the message of compassion for birds and all other animals will reach more people than ever before.”

We don’t disagree on that either!

    Hello!
I am reaching out to various animal welfare groups in hopes that you might assist me in reaching a wider audience. I am currently wrapping up a film project that I have been working on for five years- it is a documentary about fans of The Price Is Right. We are trying to raise money to finish the film through a website called IndieGoGo. I am reaching out to animal lovers because we are donating a portion of the money we raise to the DJ & T Foundation which was started by Bob Barker in 1995 and funds spay/neuter clinics around the country. I was wondering if you would be willing to send the letter I have attached below to your email list of contacts, and if you have a blog or website of your own if you would be willing to put up the attached link that people can click on to look at our project and contribute if they wish. Thanks for your help, and feel free to pass along contact information for anyone else that you think may be interested or willing to help. Thanks so much! Caryn

    Dear Friends,
“Come On Down! The Road to ‘The Price Is Right’” is a feature-length documentary about fans of the iconic game show. This project has been a five year labor-of-love for the filmmaking team. We are very close to wrapping it up and releasing it to a wide and enthusiastic audience, but as with any great work of independent cinema, we need your help to push this project to the finish line. Please visit our IndieGoGo website to learn about the project, watch clips of the film, and assist us in reaching our fundraising goal in the next 45 days. Your donation to the film will also benefit the DJ & T Foundation- founded by Bob Barker in 1995- which funds low cost spay/neuter clinics across the country. In the words of Bob Barker himself, “help control the pet population.. have your pet spayed or neutered!” Thanks for your interest and your help!
