The leading Senegalese Life Insurance company Amsa-Vie has achieved a 287% turnover increase in end 2008.
In fact, the company earned a turnover of CFA5.866 billion against CFA 1.516 billion in 2007, the Senegalese association of insurance companies said, adding that the life insurance segment in Senegal is shared among six companies, including five joint-stock companies and one mutual-aid cooperative.
The challenger of the leader is AGF-Vie that makes CFA 4.380 billion in sales, representing a significant increase of 45%. The company UASEN-Vie ranks third with CFA 3.900 billion (14%) achievements.
Below this winning trio, comes Sonam-Vie (a mutual-aid cooperative) that is neck-and-neck with UASEN-Vie with CFA 3.790 billion in sales, which represents a progress of 26% compared to the 2007 fiscal year.
Intercontinental Life Company (Ilico) is ranked fifth with sales of FCFA 1.907 billion (11%).
The last place is occupied by the New Inter-African Insurance Company (NSIA-Vie), which has a turnover of CFA 892 million, down 1% compared to the previous year.
