Seychelles Minister of Finance Danny Faure will on Monday give a reading of the country’s 2010 budget to Parliament. In a declaration Faure said he will explain to members of parliament the government’s financial plans for the next three years.
Faure said that together with Ahmed Afif, the Principal Finance Secretary, they have put the final touches to the budget and made the necessary corrections.
He added that he will inform the House of the debt-reduction strategy that the government intends putting in place.
On his part, Ariff declared that the government is introducing a different budget.
It has become very important to appraise the local public, the business community, the country’s creditors and multilateral partners of the government’s strategy for the next three years, said Ariff.
The budget will be related to the medium-term strategy which is to sustain growth and to ensure that the fiscal strategies are aligned with the country’s monetary policies, he said.
