The president of Somalia’s government Sheik Sharif sheik Ahmed has said that time for a big offensive against notorious rebels has come.
Talking to units of the country’s newly recruited coastal guards in Mogadishu the president said that Islamist rebels with ties to Al-qaeda have downgraded Somalia’s dignity and his government is ought to clear them from home.
“You know they are killing innocents indiscriminately and they don’t want a singe Somali to live so we have not to wait until they kill all people” the president said during his address to the recruits.
“Look back at what they have done last Thursday, they massacred the people’s eyes, I mean doctors, intellectuals and journalists, this shows that they want to leave no educated one in Somalia,” he stated.
Thursday’s suicide attack on a graduation ceremony in Mogadishu which Somali government blamed on Al-Shabab rebels killed at least 23 people including three government ministers, three prominent journalist, university professors and future doctors.
“We have lost patient and we have to escalate an open war against terrorists,” the president accentuated during address.
Meanwhile, the president told the marines that they have to get rid of notorious pirates from the coast of Somalia which have made as one of the world’s most dangerous.
