Steroids Found in Suitcase - Passenger to Face Charges

Australian customs has seized over 3,000 tablets from a passenger at Sydney International Airport after he allegedly tried to smuggle banned steroid tablets concealed in his suitcase. The 24 year old UK citizen was stopped by Customs officers after arriving on a flight from Thailand on Saturday, 2 February).
During a search of the passengers baggage, Customs officers allegedly located 3,000 anabolic tablets, 300 clenbutrol tablets, 120 testosterone capsules and 2 vials of stanozolol.
National Manager Investigations, Richard Janeczko said that the importation of performance and image enhancing drugs into Australia without appropriate permits is prohibited.
Customs investigators interviewed the passenger and will issue him with a summons to face court on a charge of importing a prohibited import under the Customs Act 1901.
The maximum penalty for these offenses is a fine of $110,000 and/or 5 years imprisonment.
