The first edition of BIJS is being organized in the city from April 15 to 17, 2011 at Palace Grounds. At the scintillating event, BIJS also introduced its Brand Ambassador – Ramya, renowned Kannada cine star. Ramya stands for the NextGen actress of Kollywood, displaying state’s cultural attributes with elegance and poise of today’s youth. A Joint Venture will now be formed between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and the Russian Partners namely United Aircraft Corporation & Rosoboronexport to Co-develop and Co-produce Multirole Transport Aircraft (MTA).

MTA is a 15-20 tonne payload capacity Aircraft which would meet the requirement of the Indian Air Force and the Russian Air Force. The project has been approved by both the Government of India and the Government of Russian Federation.

The main features of MTA are: Maximum take-off weight 65 tonnes, Payload Capacity 15-20 tonnes, Cruise Speed 800 kmph, Range 2500-2700 km, Service ceiling 12 km. The Aircraft will have two engines, state of the art features such as fly-by-wire, full authority digital engine control, modern avionics and glass cockpit.

The total development cost is around $600.70 million (approx Rs.2900 crores) to be equally shared by both the sides. It is planned to manufacture 205 aircraft with 50:50 work share between HAL and the Russian partners.

A Joint Venture Company (JVC) is being established with its headquarters at Bangalore, India for executing the MTA project in which HAL and Russian participants will have equal shareholding.

Celebrations outside his residence in JP Nagar, Bengaluru, were in full swing. Almost from 8 O’ clock in the morning, fire crackers were burst and flowers were being showered at the star. He accepted the blessings of his fans and cut about 10 cakes brought on by his fans. Seeing the huge number of fans that had gathered outside his house, the police provided the actor-politician with extra security.

But the main highlight of the morning was the 59 kg cake. The cake was especially made for the occasion of the actor’s 59th birthday. The ‘Danashoora Karna’ of the Kannada film industry, started out his film career with a small role and went on to be a superstar with his many fabulous performances.

The actor is currently acting in a film titled Veera Parampare along with Sudeep. This movie is being directed by director S Narayan.

While Salman Khan has always believed in following security measures, all efforts to convince Katrina to do the same fell on deaf ears. In fact, Katrina has always disregarded security threats. Some time ago, when hordes of young and old people had descended on her at a public gathering she had fobbed off the security arrangements made by the organizers arguing, “They love me. They can never harm me.”

But her latest daredevilish disregard for all rules of self-preservation takes the cake. On Monday morning, when Katrina was required to fly to Bangalore for an event with Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina just hopped into a taxi with her hand-luggage and took off. Much to the shock and disbelief of the cabbie who had no clue about the VIP passenger he was carrying until he looked into his rear-view mirror.

While Katrina cracks up at the recollection of the moment when the cabbie spotted her in the rear, her Raajneeti crew were far from amused when they saw Katrina hop out of a cab unaccompanied (even her personal manager and constant companion came straight to the airport). Ranbir and Prakash Jha were seen soundly ticking her off for her disregard for security rules.

Katrina has been indulging in such reckless security-adventures much too often these days. According to a close friend, she takes off on her own, usually accompanied by her trusted driver and no other companion, just for a spin far away to drive off loneliness.

But her latest adventure-ride to the airport on her own, has left Katrina’s family in jitters. It has now been decided that Katrina’s youngest sister, Isabel, who has been studying cinema in the US, may cut short her acting course to join Katrina in Mumbai.

Katrina admits her family is worried about her safety. “But what’s the big deal about hopping into a cab to rush to the airport? Thousands of girls do it all the time. What’s there to get hyper? My driver was late because he got caught in a traffic snarl. If I waited any more I would’ve missed my flight. So I waved for a cab, hopped in and zipped off.”

What concerns people close to Katrina is her utter obliviousness to obvious security dangers.

Says a close friend, “Katrina doesn’t realize the effect that her solitary presence in crowded places can have on people. Hopping into a cab early morning in Mumbai when there are no cops around is just not done. But she refuses to believe anyone would harm her.”

Katrina’s family doesn’t appreciate her all-izz-well-with-the-world philosophy either. They’ve taken serious note of her carelessness towards basic protection rules. And, it seems now, her days of zipping off on her own in strangers’ company are nearing an end, thanks to the timely intervention of her family.

“Rajpal” is a wonderful actor but somehow after a lot of efforts he managed to reach Khali’s head. The director then ordered Khali to lift up Rajpal and to throw him down. Poor Rajpal was simply dumbfounded on hearing this, and even Khali seemed to be in a dilemma.

But the director was very adamant on shooting this particular scene. So Khali had to lift up a very scared Rajpal and throw him down from a height. The mud was pretty soft so it helped in keeping Rajpal in a single piece. But when the director said that the shot was not ok and had to be shoot again, Rajpal finally gave up and did not want to shoot further. The director then burst out laughing and said “I was just joking with you. You still have to shoot for a lot of scenes and I can’t risk to shelf this movie by asking Khali to throw you down again”.

Finally Rajpal heaved a sigh of relief after listening to the director.

Ranbir has been telling friends, he didn’t mind missing out on the movie. But he did mind not being able to visit the IIM campus in Bangalore.

The opportunity to do so fell into Ranbir’s lap. He visited the IIM Bangalore on May 10 for an interface with students on the subject of Youth and Politics.

And, Ranbir took no chances. He had been preparing hard for the big day in Bangalore.

The topic of discussion was…should graduation be a compulsory qualification for entering politics?

Katrina and Ranbir argued against it, that graduation need not be compulsory.

While Katrina Kaif, who accompanied him to the IIM, preferred the casual extempore approach Ranbir wanted to get all the statistics on the subject so that he didn’t end up looking silly and ill-informed in the academic atmosphere.

Director Prakash Jha, who accompanied Katrina and Ranbir, is very impressed by Ranbir’s homework. “In fact he has been working the hardest to promote our film Raajneeti. While the rest of the cast has missed a couple of events, Ranbir has made sure he is there for everything. In fact, when one or the other of our team is missing Ranbir grumbles about why he’s the only constant.”

The film, which is named Kami Swamy, was filmed and completed within three days in Bangalore. The video film features a lot of Kannada film artists.

According to Dayanand, they decided to write a script as soon as news about the scandal came out. After working for about four weeks on the script, they began work on the film. The film also features some other issues which are related to the present political developments, other than the Nityanand issue. He is certain that audiences will enjoy the movie for its sarcasm and the message that it puts across. It promises to be a rib-tickler.

The film is currently in its post-production stage and the video is being produced by Mohan of Anand Audio Company. The video will be released soon.

Produced by RS Productions and directed by Taj Mahal director R Chandru, Shivarajakumar has three different looks in the movie. He had to reduce his weight from 71 kgs to 66 kgs so as to suit his character as a 20-year-old.

According to Shivarajakumar, the film has some wonderful dialogues that will appeal to the audiences. It stars Sada as the female lead who, according to the actor, can fit into village and modern roles with ease.

R Chandru, the director of the film feels that Mylari will be the pearl of Kannada cinema. They are currently shooting at Mysore, Bangalore, Srirangapatna, Savadatti and other places. Shivarajakumar is reportedly impressed by Chandru’s reverse style of narration.
