Pope Francis has made a bold move in calling for reform of the global financial system. Words like “Money has to serve, not to rule” make for powerful rhetoric; but it is hard to believe that this rhetoric will convince in our secular age. More interesting, however, is that the Institute for Works of Religion, which manages the Vatican’s bank, will be releasing its annual report for review by the general public.
