October 31, 2007
According to NAFTA safety statistics, over 50,000 commercial motor vehicle crashes have been reported across the United States so far this year. Just under 5,500 of those accidents have occurred in Texas.
“Texas leads the pack accounting for almost eleven percent of all commercial motor vehicle accidents so far this year,” says Johnson, of Johnson Law Group. “Texas’ lead over other states has increased so far in 2007.”
Texas and California have continually lead the U.S. in commercial motor vehicle crashes since 2003. In 2006 Texas accounted for 9.6% of all commercial motor vehicle accidents following California at 9.9%. As of September 2007, Texas regained the lead over California by 1.7%, a larger margin than in years past.
