TVT Records is the First Label to Distribute Music on QTRAX

March 4, 2008

TVT Records recently renewed its long- standing agreement with QTRAX and is the first label to launch music on the ad-supported P2P service. Fans will be able to download tracks from top TVT acts like Lil Jon, Ying Yang Twins, Pitbull, Sevendust, Just Jack, and the Cinematics for FREE. Multi-platinum and Grammy nominated hip-hop duo the Ying Yang Twins will be the first QTRAX ARTIST OF THE MONTH. The group recently released their hot new single “Drop.” The track is already an online phenomenon with a record-breaking 15 million streams on their MySpace page in 8 weeks. Now fans can download it at QTRAX for FREE. The download is legal and artists, label and songwriters will be paid.

“With QTRAX our fans get to enjoy the music for free, and we get paid, that is cool with us,” said D Roc of the Ying Yang Twins.

Leading independent TVT Records first signed with QTRAX in 2006 and has now renewed its deal with the world’s first free and legal peer-to-peer (P2P) service. QTRAX showcases an innovative ad-supported delivery model that easily directs revenue back to artists and rights holders.

“TVT has long been a forceful advocate of the ad supported model.” Said Steve Gottlieb, President of TVT Records, “When we signed almost two years ago we never imagined it would take so long for the rest of the industry to embrace the future.”

Mr. Gottlieb continues, “Consumers have made it clear they want music to be free. The ad supported model is the only way to both satisfy consumer expectation that music be free and to compensate the artists and other rights holders appropriately…”

“TVT Records is a pioneer in digital music distribution and has truly been at the forefront of the evolving music market online,” said Founder and Chairman of Qtrax Allan Klepfisz. “We are thrilled to be able to offer TVT’s catalogue of top artists and songwriters,” continued Klepfisz.
