Uganda Court Charges 3 Gay Activists

Three gay rights activists who were arrested on Tuesday this week as they sneaked into the venue of the international meeting for HIV/AIDS implementers at Imperial Royal hotel have been charged with criminal trespass.
The three identified as Pepe Julian Onzima, Usaam Mukwaya and Kalende sneaked into the conference holding placards reading gay Ugandans are also Ugandans and need HIV prevention and care and a seven page document soliciting for funds for their activities in Uganda .
The trio have been under detention at cps since their arrest
The said activists who are members of sexual minority organization appeared on Friday a Kampala court magistrate Suzan Kanyange and denied the charges. They were however released on court bond of 300 US dollars not cash.
Their trial is set to begin on 20th June this year.
