Uganda Women Legislators Condemn Police Brutality

Uganda Women Parliamentarians have strongly condemned the actions of local police who beat and undressed women in public.
Speaking at a press conference at Parliament in Kampala on Friday,the Chairperson of Uganda Women Parliamentarians Mrs Winnie Masiko called for a need to protect the rights of women in the Country.
She said the dignity of women needs to be protected and appealed to the Inspector General of Police Maj. Kale Kaihura, to apologize to the nation immediately.
Earlier in the week, police undressed Kampala Woman MP Ms. Nagai Nabira when she was trying to launch suggestion boxes in Owino Market in the city center and beat up Lubaga South MP Ms Suzan Nampijja Lukyamuzi in another market gathering.
