The United Nations special envoy to the Central African Republic (CAR), Ms. Sahle-Work Zewde, urged the agencies of the world body to intensify their efforts in the country, on Friday during the celebrations of United Nations Day.
“The UN system is here to work for the welfare of people, for the underprivileged, displaced people, victims of all sorts of conflicts, minorities, children in difficulties and those suffering from HIV/AIDS,” said Ms. Zewde.
“I also understand how far we still have to go and the gap between commitments and actions,” she added.
“Let us remain more united than ever, united in our determination as in our action to make the Central African Republic better and safer,” she concluded.
