The United States government has handed over eighteen vehicles worth $600,000 as well as equipment and supplies worth over five million U.S dollars to the government of Liberia.

According to a presidential mansion press statement issued Sunday, the vehicles would be used by the Special Security Service (SSS) of the Liberian Presidency.

The Charge d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Monrovia, said the donation is part of the US government’s continuous support to Liberia’s Security Sector Reform.

Madam Brooks Robinson said the US government is also providing training to the SSS.

She said America would also provide one million dollars worth of computers, uniforms, medical equipment and security equipment for use by the SSS.

President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf thanked the US government for the support and called on the SSS to use the vehicles wisely.
