The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has fixed 27 June as the date on which a much-awaited presidential election run-off will be held between incumbent president Robert Mugabe and his main opposition rival Morgan Tsvangirai f the Movement for Democratic Change, APA learned on Friday.
The second round poll will pit the two politicians after they failed to win more than 50 percent of the required votes in the first round held on 29 March.
ZEC also announced that parliamentary by-elections in three constituencies would be held on the same day.
Tsvangirai immediately announced plans to return home on Friday to contest the run-off, more than a month after he went into self-imposed exile in South Africa.
